FIBER TAPS
NetScout's F16 is a passive, easy to install, fault tolerant and transparent to the network, the F16 Fiber Optic Tap offers an efficient and cost effective solution for IDS, SNMP, RMON, and Protocol analysis. Since it is transparent to the network there is no point of failure, no network downtime, and 100% security. The F16 operates at maximum wire speed, monitoring half/full duplex traffic and is capable of monitoring and copying all seven protocol layers and any packet size, including errors.

NetScout's C8-1G tap enables transparent monitoring of full and half duplex 10/100/1000BaseT network communications. Unlike SPAN ports, the C8-1G tap monitors all seven protocol layers and any packet size, including errors. Redundant power and Permanent Network Link features that transfer any network link failure to active auto-negotiation or redundant path, provide maximum monitoring time and uninterrupted network connectivity in the event of a power failure.
